“Hay que estar en las redes sociales”, es una afirmación que se oye a diario. En las conversaciones con los entusiastas de esta nueva manera de relacionarnos con los clientes, queda la sensación de que debemos estar muy presentes en las redes. ¿Por qué?
2.789 millones de personas usan alguna red social hoy en día. Se proyecta que para el año 2021 el porcentaje aumente un 15%. ¿Por qué una red social podría ayudarte a conocer a tu cliente?
Existen muchas marcas exitosas que crearon un imperio gracias a las redes sociales, pero hay un grupo aún mayor que lucha a diario con ellas, sin conseguir ni seguidores ni clientes. En ocasiones, las marcas obtienen seguidores o fans, pero no hacen negocios.
Una manera simple de comenzar los primeros pasos en redes sociales, es evitar 10 errores comunes:
- Usar muchas plataformas a la vez en un negocio pequeño es, frecuentemente, perder tiempo. Si tu empresa es una cafetería o un restaurant, probablemente Instagram es la red social que debieras elegir. Sin embargo, si estás desarrollando un diario o un medio, Twitter podría servirte. El foco de la estrategia de tu compañía es lo que decide qué red usar.
- Jamás debes olvidarte de tus seguidores. Los números iniciales no deben desalentarte. Es natural comenzar con un pequeño grupo de seguidores. Aunque sea un pequeño grupo, son personas que esperan que renueves contenido y alimentes la relación frecuentemente. En ocasiones, los ejecutivos se olvidan de sus seguidores porque son “tan solo” un pequeño puñado, pero todas las grandes bases de fans comenzaron con un puñado. No te olvides de ellos, para que luego los hagas crecer.
- No le copies a otras marcas. No sólo es poco ético, sino que todos se dan cuenta. Un ejemplo de marca rupturista en cuanto a marketing es WOM, quien con comerciales revolucionarios, nos dice “no vamos a parar”. En poco tiempo, esta marca logró diferenciarse de sus competidores por una serie de percepciones y además, capturar importantes bases de sus clientes.
- No ignores las métricas. Aunque sea algo tedioso analizarlas, debes saber y conocer tus números. Todas las redes tienen herramientas fáciles de usar para medir audiencia, rango etario, impresiones, etc. Una mirada atenta a las estadísticas te permitirá afinar o ajustar los mensajes, entender qué contenidos son más valorados por tu audiencia y así, mejorar la relación con esos seguidores.
- Si tienes un público objetivo debes entenderlo. Date el tiempo de estudiarlo y de analizarlo las veces que sean necesario para cautivarlos. La complejidad de este punto radica en que tenemos poco tiempo para invertir en redes sociales, en perjuicio, por ejemplo, de tener conversaciones reales con personas que calzan en ese perfil. Conversar con ellos, te dará un acercamiento a sus preferencias e intereses que, de otra manera, pasarías por alto.
- No subestimes el recurso audiovisual. Un 60% de las personas que ven videos en Facebook, por ejemplo, lo ven de principio a fin.
- Ninguna red social es igual a otra. Cada una tiene sus formas de comunicación, sus escenarios de consumo y eso debes tenerlo muy claro para hacer un buen trabajo conociendo a tu cliente. El escenario de consumo de Facebook es diferente al escenario de consumo de Linkedin.
- No dejes afuera a la gente que “no es millenial”. No siempre los jóvenes dominan las redes sociales. Las generaciones mayores siguen adoptando las tecnologías y las redes, entre otras razones, para comunicarse con sus seres queridos y así mantenerse “conectados”.
- Usa publicidad pagada. Es una buena forma de llegar a seguidores que no te conocen y que pueden contactarte si necesitan tu ayuda.
- Las redes sociales no se usan sólo para vender. Su primera premisa es comunicar para crear relaciones. Las redes sociales comunican, no sólo venden.
